This weekend was good.. a friend of a friend had a wedding, I wasn’t invited cos I didn’t really know her, but it really got me thinking hard about the big “M” word… yes and its not “Mother”. My friend’s friend is 23/24ish.. which is pretty close to my age.
Not to mention that practically everyone I know is getting married.. OR engaged!! Joy’s cousin Tiffany just moved down from Brisbane with her fiancé over last weekend. Tiffany is 23.
Joy’s getting married in June this year. She’s 23 turning 24 this year.
Esther & Caleb got married last year. Esther was 22.
Elim & Noel got married last year too. Elim was 24 then.
Sam & Kim got married when they were 24.
On one hand, it seems like such a big and scary step. Not cos it seems so permanent (people can get divorced).. but cos.. it just seems so grown up. Not that Im about to do it or anything, but all having all these people around that are my actual friends (yes im grown up and yes I have adult friends) go through this next phase in life has forced me to stop and think hard about my own life.
Issues like the Mother-in-law, the change of names – to do it or not, planning the hens night, going for bridal fittings, having dresses made.. booking the chapel, picking the songs, choosing your muscos, and your bridesmaids, deciding where to live after, where you want to go for your honeymoon…
And many, many more.
I know, its pretty premature for me, but all the M-talk among friends, especially the deep heart-to-heart talks with Joy has made me realise that one day, sooner rather than later.. im talking really, really, really soon, I am going to have to deal with all of those issues above…
Oh well..its not like im going to deal with those now, so these can wait..
OH!! Hah I gave Milo a bath on Sunday.. despite 2 scratches on my neck (he was trying to get away from the water) haha he was fine.. I love how I can just pick him up and do stuff to him and he doesn’t care!! Haha
Now he smells like Pantene (my shampoo), and smells like my bed now! (like a pillow) hah so when I sleep with him it smells a whole lot nicer hahaha.. MUAHAHA next step.. CLOTHES!! Hahaha. Im soo mean.
YAY!! My Dad’s coming to visit!! next week
Im planning a holiday from his holiday for Dad! If not he’ll just be in Adelaide for nearly a month! We may as well go up to Kangaroo Island for the Easter weekend seeing that I have a 4 day weekend…
Hope he likes it!! This will give me a chance to visit sites other than Adelaide!! Haha
This coming weekend I have church camp up at Victor Harbour!! YAY! Haha I love staying up till 3am every morning to play games with Josh (okay he doesn’t stay till 3 he goes to bed cos he needs his 8 hours which I think is very mature of him)
