The 9th November 2007 story
Hi GUys!!

Well today's post isnt really a story.. haha i just thought up that title... haha. Today is a F-R-R-I-D-D-A-A-Y-Y-Y-!! tHIS Means that SHOPS are open!! This also means I dont have to work tomorrow!! Thus, i can go to town and shop, walk around with Josh, etc.

On another note, to see how BAD my chinese has actually gotten....

Yesterday, my housemate cooked soup. I was trying to think of the Chinese word for Soup - "Tang!!" right?? haha Try again. Do you know.. I SERIOUSLY actually thought it was spelt "Tung!". To me, it actually makes alot more sense, because "Tang" is pronounced as "Tang, you know.. like "a tangy flavour, or a like a tangent"..

Where as "Tung" is actually pronounced as "Tongue" as in "I have a tongue" which sounds the same as "Tung - soup". Is this confusing to you people?

Josh had to try and convince me that it was actually spelt "Tang!!" HOw confusing is that!?! This is the lousy example he gave me..

"Deb, my name is Pak - it isnt actually pronounced as "Pack"!! Its actually pronounced as "Puck"."

I was like .. "so?? YEAH what's the difference?~!" So!! He gave me another example..

"Deb, if your surname was spelt "Kah" it would not be pronounced as "Kay".. it would be pronounced as "Car".

OMG.. Then after pondering it, i remembered my PRIMARY school chinese.. opps..and Josh is born in Australia. DAMNIT. ME-MO TO SELF: SPEAK MORE CHINESE & REVISE!!!!!
