40 Hour Famine
Well.. yeah recently ive been involved with the 40 hour famine. Like.. you ask me.. why are you involved? Is it a cheaper than sponsering everyone else???

Well its Saturday morning, and in 4 hours I would have completed not eating for 40 hours.. :) i cant wait! My tummy is growling.. and i feel so weak. And Josh has promised to cook a BIG MEAL!! haha yesterday night at GRIP i was seriously so hungry, and i couldnt stop talking about this big wonderful meal that He was gonna cook for me - Carbonara Pasta with seafood (made from scratch including the sauce), Cheese Nachos mixed with minced beef, mushrooms and corn topped with melted cheese, garlic bread... YUMMY!!! I so couldnt stop describing it to myself yesterday night!!

But seriously, I've had to ask myself some hard questions of late.. like.. is this what people living in poverty go through on a daily basis? you know, its like.. dont you get angry? Alright, bear with me.. try to go through just 40 hours without eating solid food. You are allowed water. But people in poverty - some dont even have the luxury of drinking clean tap water you know.. doesnt it break your heart? DOesnt it stir your spirit up? Doesnt it make you angry about the injustice of this world??

I really would encourage you - be extravagant in your giving. If you havent already sponsered someone for this 40 hour famine, please grab hold of them and give them ur money. It all goes to world vision, helping kids get the basic necessities of life. Its a really good cause. People have been really, really generous and have really encouraged me to do the same.

Alright! Im off to do some housework and grocery shopping for that fantastic meal tonight.. that JOSH is cooking.. I seriously cannot wait. Please, if you havent done so, try going for 40 hours without solid food, and understand that this is what kids face on a daily basis.

deb's outta there..

MY Busy life
you know what? i was just reading my own blog (yes i read it pple even if you dont).. hahah ok bad joke..

but anyway.. yeah my grandma is gone... sob.. i miss her.. haha however.. suddenly my life has become so booked up that I barely have time to breathe or eat lunch, let alone cook Japanese food or Pasta. Amazing isnt it? hahaha

She left on Tuesday, but it seems like eons ago. Wednesday night i had touch footy, and then had dinner at Aaron's house. Got home at around 9ish, showered and Josh came over for awhile, went to bed at 11.

Thursday, got up at 7am to have my first personal training session with the trainer from hell... haha no just joking, she's tough, and she's really, really the nicest person. My trainer is probably my role model. She's my friend from church, but is working as one at my gym, so I thought she'd prolly be the best there is to train me. Worked from 8.30 to 5, then rushed to rent a movie and babysit from 6.15 to 10.30.. didnt eat dinner here cos i was rushing to get there on time and by the time i finished i was so tired i hopped into bed anyway.

Friday (today) was.. in a word, rushed. Met up with Uncle Melvin for a coffee and a discussion, which meant that i couldnt eat lunch. Then, after work, i rushed down to church for a follow up with Phil, which was from 5.30pm to 7pm. Grip started at 7pmish, which meant that I still havent had dinner. It ended at 10.35pm, i just got home, and to unwind i think im blogging!! hahaha. its 11.05pm now and im still in my work clothes, going to shower now and have some dinner..

this new life is so good in a way that it keeps me so busy i dont have the time to think about my family and life in singapore. I am really enjoying it.. :)

Chinese REstaurants... ick.
The reason for today's venting/topic is... CHINESE RESTAURANTS!!!!! hahaha
well.. if I am alone here in Adelaide, I do not usually go there... because I think that
1) They are ridiculously overpriced
2) The food is not that good anyway
3) I can get pretty sick of chinese
4) Too much MSG.
5) Josh/ME cooks better (ok this one may be a lie)

True, there is the occasional venture.. sometimes cos I crave it, or there's nothing else left in the house to eat, so we go for chinese takeaway.

But.. since my grandma is here.. this past weekend has been fully... FULLY chinese food. I am so damn sick of it. Cant wait to have.. carbonara pasta.. or mexican nachos.. or maybe Japanese.. yumm..

On Thursday night, we went out for a Celebratory Graduation Dinner with Josh's whole family. We went to Imperial Peking, a chinese restaurant on Payneham road. Where we had a whole bunch of dishes, including Peking Crispy half duck in a pancake (YUM!!)

On Saturday night, we went out with Aunty Jean and Uncle Alan to have dinner because my grandma is here, and they normally take us out. So, we went to this other chinese restaurant called Jade View Restaurant, also on Payneham Road. We had, among other things, Crispy half Peking Duck with pancake, steamed Oysters and brinjal cooked with minced pork.. Okay at this point I was kinda still okay..

Sunday Morning after church. I took my grandma and Josh to eat Dim Sum (choose as you go). That was kinda alright.... was starting to get a little sick of restaurants bearing stupid names and menus that were in a foreign language.

Sunday night (tonight), we went to Aunty Jae and Uncle Ken (Uncle Alan's brother)'s house for dinner. We thought it was gonna be homecooked meal, but NO!! Guess where Aunty Jae took us?!! Ur Right!!! TO JADE VIEW, where, among other things we had crispy skin half duck with pancakes, brinjal cooked with minced pork.... yeah.. and we were even seated at the same freaking table that we sat at on Saturday night!! I was praying the owner wouldnt recognise us and give the game away (we couldnt tell aunty jae that aunty Jean brought us there and ordered almost the same dishes).

After this weekend, I seriously do not give a flying fox if I dont see another chinese restaurant from miles away... or eat at it. AT ALL.

PASTA.... YUmmmmm..... SUSHI... here i come!!!

deb's outta there..

??unknown?? - debs

Maybe its intuition
Marred by a sense of completion
I’m searching for
Only of which that You so freely give
I’ve found in You
My hope, my life – my everything

I know that it might sound
More than a little crazy
But I believe

I know He loved you before He formed you
You were made perfect in His eyes
He opens wide out his arms to embrace you
He has been waiting all this time

There’s just no rhyme of reason
Only through love by salvation
Is death upturned
I see His glories and His mercies
As they unfold
In my life, all around me

I know He loved you before He formed you
I think He dreamed you into life
He opens wide out His arms to embrace you
Will you not ask Him in this time

lyrics by Deborah Koh!
